Our Branch is laden with fruit (aka we have the best Branch ever)

Hello sweet friends!

Our branch party was a SUCCESS!! With the help of the RS and EQ Presidents it went without a hitch! Sister Guilain and I decorated the chapel all cutesy, and everyone brought lots of treats and sweets and we had quite the turnout! A bunch of nonmembers also joined in on the fun, and we got a new potential person to teach! Yay for Christmas! We had a Christmas quiz (my team won btw) and some other games, and we sang Silent Night at the end. Sister Guilain volunteered us to sing the first verse in French. Wowwie wow, I never knew my knowledge of that would be so handy! Heavenly Father inspired my 3rd grade choir teacher to teach us that song just so I could bond with my two French-speaking companions. He knows everything!

Church was wonderful. It wasn't really different from our other church meetings in December, other than the fact that we only had one hour. A bunch of the members gave us more Christmas cards and gifts!! When we went home I put them all in a drawer so I'm not tempted to open them before Christmas day. Out of sight, out of mind! It really works!

We were also in Edinburgh for a little bit earlier this week for exchanges with our STLs. We were able to attend a baptism of someone they were teaching. She was so happy and so excited. It was so AWESOME! But yeah, Edinburgh was so fun! I didn't want to leave haha. It's always fun to feel that rush from the city for a day. We saw so many miracles!

Aannd Christmas is almost here! I'M SO EXCITED!! ***** If you haven't already, please please please watch The Christ Child video! It would be a nice thing to do on Christmas Eve or Christmas with the family or just by yourself. It's so beautiful. ***** Plus it'll help us all remind ourselves of the true meaning of this holiday. Someone gave a talk in church about Christmas (obviously) and how sometimes we're so occupied with giving others gifts, that we forget to give a gift to the One whose birth we're celebrating. That gift can be anything. Service, a prayer, watching that video ^^, just taking time to worship and remember Him! I'm so grateful for my mission and how it's taught me how to better love my Savior.

Merry Christmas everyone! I love you all!

Love, Sister Syphus

Some of these are of an Abbey here in my area.

Two of the four children in our branch. The little girl I'm sitting by loves me for some reason.
She's one of my favorite people ever.

we have a tradition in the mission of being "kebabtised." We have to eat a certain kebab meat and drink a "holy coke." Sister Bartlett (my STL) found out that I hadn't been yet so insisted we go. It actually wasn't too bad!
