Our Wee Bonnie Lassie is HOME!! :)
It was a day full of mixed emotions as we prepared for the return of sweet Kendyl. Her mission has been a dream come true, literally! She wanted to serve in Scotland and Ireland and was given the blessed opportunity to do so. As I have thought of her saying her farewells and spending hours flying home from the wonderful experience that she has had my heart is very tender knowing that hers is too. I hope that she reflects on the opportunity she has had in Scotland and Ireland in being a representative of our Savior to the people there and I hope that she can look back on these mission moments as learning lessons for the rest of her life.
Since Kendyl was flying in so late, we didn't have a big turn out of fans to welcome her home, but it was great just having a small group there. We were tracking her flight from home and decided to hop in the van at 11:00 when it said that she had left Salt Lake City. We arrived at the St. George airport and went up on the observation deck to watch for the plane flying in, and there set the plane down below....UNLOADING! We ran back down and was able to see her walking in through the glass windows. What a sweet reunion it was! And to make it even sweeter, was that her two brothers, Joel and Erik surprised us all by flying from SLC with her since she would be the only one from her group flying the last leg of their journey. So, when Erik and Joel stuck their heads around the corner, it was and even greater reunion! What kind-hearted brothers to spend the money and time to do that for their little sister. My goodness, I've been blessed with the best!!!
Needless to say, uncle Evan & Jill (who found out last night that Kendyl was coming home and wanted to be there to support us), and Jerry & Katherine & Landon (who were here for Leslie Syphus's funeral) were late in seeing Kendyl fly in. She had arrived 20 min. early! We waited at the airport so they could see her before we left for home.

"and the time passed away like as it were a dream..."
