Cumbernauld: The Land of Bridges

Woowee!

It's been quite a couple of weeks my pals! So much has gone on!

So. All the missionaries not from the EU and without Garda cards (visa-type things for the Republic of Ireland) got kicked out. I was one of those missionaries. So last Friday I packed my things along with Sister Elison, and we cleaned the flat all nice and good for a Senior Couple to move in, and we left Tralee Saturday morning! It was pretty sad, as all of my goodbyes were over text. That was a bit rough. But all is well!

I'm now in Cumbernauld (BACK IN SCOTLAND WOOT!!). There are so many bridges here. Wowza. There's also so much walking. My legs always feel like jelly. Shows how out of shape I am. We are a biking area (which is a bit scary), but our bikes are broken at the moment, and we have three of us right now rather than two. My companion is Sister Desoloc, and I'm follow-up training her! She's from the Philippines, and we've been bonding over my limited knowledge of Tagalog (thanks Joel). Apparently my accent is perfect! And I have two witnesses for that! We are currently trio-ing it up with Sister Oren, who is also from the Philippines. She's waiting for her companion to get here from the Provo MTC tomorrow hopefully, and has been with us since I got here. Let me tell you. Filipinas are the best people in the entire world. They are tiny and hilarious and such hard workers. Also, Sister Desoloc is the most humble person I have ever met, and I'm already learning so much from her. Every time we roleplay and teach I am blown away by how powerful and genuine and loving she is. Even with her not-so-perfect knowledge of the English language. I LOVE THEM!! They've also been feeding me lots of rice and chicken. Those tiny people can eat so much. Sister Desoloc shovels boat loads of food on my plate after I've dished up my portion and tells me to eat. She says I won't get fat but I don't know... At least most of the food is healthy. :)

We are working with a few people who have been experiencing some roadblocks, which is tough. We're trying to help them overcome them. We're also teaching a returning member who really has the desire to believe again but doesn't know if he can. He will! He's actually so incredible.

The ward here is amazing! They remind me a bit of Montrose, my first area. Being here has felt a bit like home :)

Well, I love you all. I know this was relatively short. Hopefully I'll have more time next week. God is great and He loves us and this work! We are His! And He is ours :)
