"If God be for us, who can be against us?"
What's the craic my fellow friends and comrades??
From now on, if I have no idea what to put in as my heading, I'm just gonna do scriptures quotes. I like scriptures.
Not much crazy stuff has been going on. We had an online proselyting training conference on Wednesday via a conference call. All the missionaries in Belfast Zone and Paisley zone were on it with President. And my MISSION MUM WAS THERE. I actually almost cried a bit when I saw her face. I haven't seen her since before I got to Derry, and since I've been training my own wee bairn, I've been thinking about her a lot. What a perfect way to begin my mission. She taught me so many things and boy am I grateful for her. Anyway, I obviously didn't talk to her or anything, but it was just really nice being able to see her. All my past companions have been in Scotland since leaving me, so I haven't seen ANY of them since serving with em. It's okay though, I have lots of friends here in the bonnie wee land of Ireland!
So. For the rest of the week. We've been chapping quite a bit, and have met some pretty cool people and have had some pretty neat conversations. Being on a mission is just such an incredible experience. You meet so many people that you never could've dreamed of meeting. So many stories and lifestyles and cultures and beliefs exist, and it's a beautiful thing to be able to discover some of them :)
Shane has been in China for the week. We emailed him a bunch while he was away, and then he got home yesterday, and we'll be meeting with him tomorrow! Woot woot! He's really our only solid guy at the moment. Joel is always busy and keeps cancelling our appointments last minute. We haven't seen him since General Conference. We're hoping that things work out for him. He's still reading our Book of Mormon references that we give him, but won't branch out on his own. So we'll see.
I bought Cookie Crisp cereal this morning. I will repeat this statement that I made last week. The UK doesn't have good cereals. They're too healthy. I miss my Reese's Puffs. :(
Oh well. They do have some nice Frosted Flakes though. And their granola's not too bad either.
Anyway, this week I've been studying some scriptures that Elder Sabin is having the whole mission read in preparation for our zone conferences (ours is on Wednesday). I've had so many cool thoughts and insights! And a recurring theme is that having charity is SO important. Loving those around you in the Savior's way enables us to accomplish so many things. We can only truly have the Spirit with us when the love of God has filled our souls :) And we only truly love God if we obey him. "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (s/o to Kambree). That was another theme in all of the scriptures. Obedience brings blessings, and eternal life! I hope we all strive to be obedient to all that our Father has asked us to do. There is such a difference in our lives if we aren't living obediently. The Spirit can fill every part of our lives when we do all that we can to love and obey! Let's all do better this week, shall we!?
I love you all loads! Till the work is done! :)
