From: Sister Francis
Hallo my friends!
I'm not dead yet. I'm actually doing lots better with my ginormous bike. I have a couple of bumps and bruises, but it's not too bad :) I feel like a real missionary now! Haha. My bike was squeaking and Sister Francis's had weird brakes, so our friend John looked at them and got them fixed up. We have angels all around us :) I feel like I'm getting so buff now. We also have to carry the lads up two flights of curvy stairs every time we come back to our flat. So I'm building my biceps as well :p
We were able to meet with quite a few of our friends this week. A couple of them cancelled then rescheduled then didn't show... that's always the pits, but as Brother Hogg, our WML likes to say, "missionary life is full of appointments and disappointments." Truth. Our pals that didn't cancel though are progressing well! It's been so incredible and humbling to see God reveal His hand in their lives. He does it with all of us.

So, it's been a few minutes since writing the above bit, and I'm bad at writing and can't think of what to mention, so I had Sister Francis send me her weekly to give me ideas. She is very gifted with writing them, so I think I'll just copy and paste (with her permission of course):
What's up my party people!!! How is it going?! Happy to hear it! So sister SYPHUS had me look back through my past emails to try and find something that i still can't find and i saw that i rarely spell her name right. Of course i know how to actually spell it, but autocorrect gets the best of me sometimes and with my well set habit of waiting till 5 to write my letter, I usually dont have time to re read and make sense of the alphabet soup I just poured out. So this is my public apology. I started my letter at 4:50 this time, so I'm swimming in time as long as I don't get too distracted.
So we got our friend John to fix our bikes for real this week! What an angel he is. One of these days he will let us teach him...one day! So now my bike feels way better. It still screeches and makes awful noises when I brake going down big hills, which would normally be fine but its putting my bell out of business and I'm a little put off about that. Why even have a super cool bell, if you can't even use it...lame. sister SYPHUS is getting better at the bikes faster than I am, probably because she has 1/4 of the body weight to haul around but I'm getting there. Thanks for worrying but really you dont need to, no seriously stop, I'm fine I'm fine, ohhh my gosh, I said I was fine...geez *shakes head*
Anyways moving on... there is this super awesome newlywed couple in our ward Lauren and Enchzin! Enchzin is Mongolian and Czech Republican and Lauren is 100% American, a freaking men!! Although whenever she stays talking it throws me off and I have to re remind myself that shes American. I'm used to my comps and myself but not others. It feels like my minds dives into this blackhole and I cant remember where on the world I am. Very confusing for a young sister such as myself. I'll get over it! So Enchzin is an amazing cook! I had chicken on the bone and didn't throw up, big steps people! They want to feed us every week and I said well only if you want to....jokes. we are going over tonight for FHE and he's making dumplings not sure from which country but you can trust that after tonight their temporary residence will be in my belly!!
So we had to make two trips to Kirky this week cause appointments were rescheduled and then fell through again but what do you do right?! Just like our wise ward mission leader says, "Missionary work is full of appointments and disappointments." Ha clever man. But funny story...on the way to kirky pt2 there was a man on the bus who I had only said "yes this bus goes to kirky" to and then I spent the rest of the dumpy ride trying to sleep. When the name got off he told me he left a note in my pocket. The note said, "you look great indeed!" Then it had his name and number on the back. Oh Oliver, bless your heart. I dont know why or how he thought my sleep deprived troll face was appealing but I was flattered. Now everytime I go on a bus I zip up my pockets...you just never know.
We had dinner at the Forsyths tonight. Weird thing, they pronounce Forsyth way differently here. The For is shorter and the syth is the accented part that goes up in tone. That doesnt make sense...nevermind. anyways we made pizza and the most glorious mac-n-cheese with her! She is seriously so funny!! They were making fun of me cause I wore my snowman apron inside out...sorry didn't want the cute snowman to get messy whatever. She's a hoot! She has twin daughters on missions right now, one in Brazil and the other in cape verde. They come home a week apart from each other, unless the one decides to extend...she hopes not. It was fun to help make the dinner, it makes to feel at home when you're involved in the process, plus shes a crazy frantic women in the best way possible just like my mom so I really like her.
Saturday morning we always go help out with the peace gardens, which is a war memorial. We help keep it all nice and pretty. This saturday I met the man running it, Bobby, and he is one of the cheekiest men I've ever met. Most older men here in Scotland are especially if you are a sister missionary, which is so funny! We just joke around all time. He even tried to take one of our bikes for a spin...didn't get very far. Good times!! My favorite part of the peace garden is when they call tea time half way through. We all walk to the top entrance for hot chocolate(coffee and tea) and biscuits. It's so British to have a tea time in the middle of a service activity, but it works for me.
