Feelin 20 (jk not really)
Helloooo friends and family!!
This week was a partay! I got lots of birthday calls and texts from our district and Elder Mahler (our District Leader) got me a mug and a bag of lemons as a wee joke with how he kept trying to get me to drink some lemon and honey when I had a sore throat. It was actually super funny.
We had one of our comp studies at Joe Jackson's where we had some nice ice cream and waffles. SO GOOD. Sister Wilkinson also wrote me a sweet card, so that was nice :) AND MY MOM GOT ME REESES PUFFS SO I ATE THOSE FOR BREAKFAST. Man, they don't really have any good cereals here.
Wednesday we taught Shane, who I mentioned meeting last week. It was a really good lesson, and since then he's been reading and loving the Book of Mormon and has had some really beautiful experiences and insights with it. He believes it's the word of God! And he also feels really good about the message of the Restoration that we shared with him. We are SO EXCITED. He's in China for the week, so we'll be emailing him until he gets back :)
I've had some really good studies this week, but I forgot to bring my study journal, and can't really remember them... THAT'S WHY YOU WRITE THEM DOWN EVERYONE. I do remember studying Elder Gerrit W. Gong's latest conference talk. I was doing it on my schnazzy new smart phone, and lots of scriptures kept popping into my head, and because technology is GREAT, I made bunch of little links and tags and stuff and it was the BEST. Most days I still use my paper copy though. It's my favorite. :) Anyway, here's a quote from Elder Gong: "God's shepherds are to strengthen, heal, bind up that which is broken, bring again that which was driven away, seek that which was lost." And then I thought about the scripture Isaiah 61:1-3, and man, I love that one :) I'm trying to do these things every day. Sometimes I do it with myself. And I know that only through Christ we can love and help and bind up others' broken spirits! I hope we can all make a extra, greater effort to love and care for those around us and act as their shepherds!
I love you all!

Elder Mahler's gift. Don't know why he gave me a dad one
The Standard of Truth! President's been wanting us to memorise it so I made a thing:)
May 4th! This storm trooper actually came up to us when he saw us later to shake our hands and introduce his cute wife!
Hopefully when he's not in costume he'll approach us again and we can teach him!
