Such a blur
Hi friends and family!
This week has been pretty hectic. I can't really remember a whole lot. We spent a whole day travelling to and from Belfast for Sister Cox's doctor's appointment. She got her itchy dry skin checked out, and was prescribed some steroid cream. Seems to be working.
Lots of people and missionaries have been getting sick, and I've been feeling a bit iffy myself, but hopefully it won't get too bad.
We've spent a lot of time outside finding this week, and got a few phone numbers out of it. We'll be trying to get meeting scheduled with them!
Not really much else to say. The weather's been crazy, snowing one minute, sunshining the next, then raining. It been going in a cycle. The cold, hard wind has been a constant.
Oh, we met with Anthony this week and read a chapter of the Book of Mormon, and he came to church yesterday! So that was good! :) We'll be seeing Joel this Thursday, and have a couple other appointments set up. Hopefully they'll all work out!!
Highlight from this week's study: 2 Nephi 5:25:
"And the Lord God said unto me: They shall be a scourge unto thy seed, to stir them up in remembrance of me; and inasmuch as they will not remember me, and hearken unto my words, they shall scourge them even unto destruction."
This is what I got from it: We have scourges placed on us to make and keep us humble, and so that we'll remember the Lord and continue to follow Him. BUT. If we don't turn to Him, those scourges will be our destruction. We can't handle them on our own! Then that brought me to 1 Nephi 3:7. Alone, we can't accomplish much. But the way that God has prepared for us to accomplish all that He has given us is Christ. He IS the way. And it is only through Him and with Him that we can do what we are commanded to do!
Anyway, I love you all! Be happy and healthy this week!
Love,
Sister Syphus
