Staying in Derry!

This week was so amazing! We've seen so many miracles. We went chapping Monday night, and I'm attributing my thoughts to chap an unexpected street to the Spirit :) We found two potentials from it, and have begun teaching a woman that knows and is very friendly with one of the members. SO AWESOME!

We got our transfer calls on Saturday, and we were so shocked to find out that Sister Cox was leaving and going to Scotland (in my old district actually), and I was staying! I was like "Oh shoot." And then they told me that I would be training a brand new missionary straight from the MTC, and I was like "OH SHOOT." I couldn't believe it! I still don't know who she is, but I'll find out tomorrow! I'll be flying to Edinburgh tomorrow morning with my homie Sister Hammond and a few others. We're both so excited to train and I'm so excited to be in Scotland for a day haha!

My study has been so good this week! One morning, I actually had a bit of inspiration for a poem while I was reading the scriptures. I thought I would share, though I wrote it within a couple of hours, so it's a bit rough!

A Mountain of Light

In the valley of sorrow, my soul doth lay,
Harrowed and bitter, and wasting away.
Pierced with guilt, and torn by shame,
The Lord of this world, to me, He came.

He knelt where I lay, and stroked my wet cheek.
He whispered, "Arise," but I felt too weak.
He spake unto me with His soft, sweet voice,
"I love thee, I'll cover thee, but you have the choice.

"Choose me and be joyful, or choose ye to stay
in this valley of chains where thy soul doth lay.
I'll loosen thy bonds and will break off thy bands,
just reach out dear Child and take hold of my hands."

My eyes filled with tears as He whispered my name,
And hope filled my soul, dispelling my shame.
I grasped His scarred hands and he helped me to rise,
And my heart felt such peace as I looked in His eyes.

So filled with love, and mercy, and grace,
His arms wrapped around me in the sweetest embrace.
His transformative power pierced my dark night,
And made this deep valley a mountain of light.

I've gained such a testimony of my dear Savior and His Atoning sacrifice. I feel His power every day, and oh my goodness, I'm so grateful for Him.

I love you all!

Last district council!
This was in front of the peace statue
The guild hall in Derry. So pretty.
Bus stop selfie! :)
