A legenDERRY week (cliche, I know)
Hi everyone!
This week was ABSOLUTELY GRAND. We had our All-Ireland zone conference on Thursday, and I cried throughout pretty much all of it. President gave his instruction on diligence, and it was exactly what I needed. TEARS WERE STREAMING. He told us that if we were struggling with having a desire to do the work, we needed to start each day with a prayer asking for that desire. THEN, we need to take a step of faith and walk out our doors and BEGIN working. As we do that, Christ will be with us, our Father in Heaven will be with us, and our desire will gradually increase. I think I mentioned something similar to that in my last email, but boy is it true. We can't expect to receive something if we just sit around all day. We need to have the faith to act, and then we'll be given what we've asked for as long as it be right:) This week, I've really recognised that whenever I sit down, whether in the flat, at church, or in a cafe, I become SO TIRED. My eyelids droop and everything, and it's all I can do to get up and go outside when it's time to get back out there and share the Gospel. But the minute I do get outside (maybe not the very minute), I wake up. I don't really feel tired anymore. The difference is amazing. Satan's working hard, but Christ is so much stronger. I'm so grateful for that! "May we always choose the harder right, instead of the easier wrong."
We had a couple of lessons this week. I won't mention one of them because it was just very strange. One was yesterday at the church with a man named Joel. We hadn't met him, but he was in our contacts, so we were able to set up a meeting via that. He's AWESOME. Talks a ton, but he seems to be a pretty solid guy.
This morning, Sis Cox and I decided to actually do something for our p-day, and went to a museum here in Derry. It was all about the civil rights movement. Very interesting. Lots of violence and death. Not really my cup of tea. It made me feel a bit depressed afterward. It's good to know the history!!
Other than that, not much else has gone on. Here's a funny quote. I was being a bit emotional at one point this week, and Sister Cox asked what was wrong. She pulled me in for a hug, and I told her that I was just a wuss. This was her response: "You're not a wuss. You're tough. Like a gummy bear." She got me to laugh then. She's the best. :)
I love you all! Be diligent this week!!! ;)
