Consider Yourself Heart Attacked!

Hello all! How are yous doing (they use "yous" here for plural--it's so fun)?

I'll begin with my previous p-day. We spent most of the day cutting out paper hearts and writing on them some things we love about certain members. We were able to heart attack two of them. We've discovered that we're horrible at sneaking around. When we went to Helen Stronach's (our awesome mum/granny), her front window was wide open, so we crept around the edges of her yard, me behind Sis Mac, and Sis Mac's face behind her backpack. we got to the door and Helen opened it asking what we were doing? I tried to play it cool and told her we were trying to give her a heart attack (see what I did there?). She said that we definitely almost did, acting like some sneaky monkeys. Sis Mac told her to go back to her knitting and close the blinds while we did "something" (so obvious I know). So, we went back outside, and Sis Mac stood watching the window making sure Helen didn't peek while I went to work. After I was done, we opened the door, yelled into the house, "Consider yourself heart attacked," then said bye, shut the door, and ran. It was so funny.

Then, on Wednesday we finally had the chance to do the same to Bishop's home. They also have a ginormous window, but we only saw a hand and thought it was okay, so we crept up. While we were kneeling in front of the door, we saw the two youngest (a 6 and 10 yr old) peeking through the glass. We told them to shh and went to work as fast as we could. I was squealing on the inside the whole time. We finished and set the lemon cakes we made the night before on their porch (they tasted and looked delicious btw despite everything that went wrong--I can't believe I pulled them off!) and rang the doorbell, then hit the sidewalk and hid behind their great big hedges to try and see them answer the door. I couldn't see anything, but then we heard, "I knew it!" to the left of us and we looked and saw Bishop's wife Pauline and a couple of their kids laughing at us. We quickly turned straight around and began running. IT WAS SO AWKWARD. And then it became even more awkward when I talked with Pauline on Sunday. Turns out she had seen us through the window while we were sneaking to the door, and while we were kneeling down RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR she peeped open the chap and whispered "Boo." Neither of us saw or heard her, and we had just kept on going. ugggghhh. Oh well. They appreciated it and loved it, so all is well. When Bishop came up to us he actually had no insult! Just looked at us with a happy smile and said thanks. Ah it's the best feeling. SERVICE/having fun IS SO GREAT!

We also had cottage evening (FHE with people we're teaching) on Monday with Ryan and a couple in their thirties. It was really great, and Ryan's transitioning into the ward so well. He's being received with open arms and is loving it. He seriously has NO problems. We've taught him all of the commandments, and he just keeps on saying that it'll be easy because he lives that way anyway. Oh my goodness it's insane. His baptism is on Wednesday and Sis M and I will be singing and making refreshments! It's also Sister McNamara's birthday that day as well, so it'll be a nice gift for her I think.

And speaking of singing, we've been doing it so much lately. We've kinda started up a thing of "singing for our supper," where we sing the first verse of a hymn or primary song to the members feeding us. We don't do it all the time, but it's been fun, and something I would NEVER have done before coming on my mission. We had dinner with a long-time less active Louise and sang for her. Usually she's sarcastic and jokey (like Bishop) but she really loved it and told us so. We're hoping that our visits will do something for her, and that eventually she'll come back.
We also sang for a pretty old Polish woman named Marvisha. She had the previous Sisters over most Sundays, and we decided to finally visit. We sang for her, then she sang for us, and it was so cute! I secretly took a video, but can't figure out how to do it via email, so those of you that have access to my drive folders will be able to see it.

Tracting has been super slow. Not many people have stopped to talk with us (probably three or four this whole week) and those that did aren't interested. I'm hoping and praying that it'll pick up this week, though we won't have much time to do it with so many things going on (Ryan's baptism, my next physical therapy appointment, All-Scotland Conference, and exchanges). Patience is key! And it's something that I'm praying for, especially concerning myself.

I love it here! I can't imagine me being anywhere else. It's wonderful, and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. One thing in my studies this week that I loved. In 2 Nephi chapters 31 and 32 it talks about us being gifted with the tongue of angels after baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Imagine that! WE ARE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE TONGUE OF ANGELS. It's hard to remember sometimes that I have been entitled to have the Spirit with me always as I keep the commandments and live worthily. But it's a good thing to remember, that the Spirit will tell us all things that we should do, if we just learn how to listen! If anyone has anymore thoughts on this, please share:)

Love you!
