No Time!
Oh my goodness I have so much to say and only TWENTY MINUTES TO SAY IT.
I love you all and appreciate your love and support and prayers so so much! And sorry for the overload of emails you'll be receiving from me this week because of the little mishap thingy.
So. We had our Scotland North Mission conference on Tuesday up in Aberdeen and it was AMAZING. Sister Mac and I ended up being able to sing, though the night before I was physically unable to talk other than getting out a faint rasp. We prayed before we went to bed that our voices would be alright and lo and behold I was healed in the morning! The Lord is merciful! So yes, we sang Be Still My Soul a cappella and it apparently went well. We got a lot of compliments, and a few said that they cried because the Spirit was so strong, including President Macdonald! I felt so relieved, because I was just a complete bundle of nerves. Anyway, Sister Hammond and I, as well as Sister Linco were reunited, and it was just like our MTC times!
A funny + an awesome story: we were GQing on Highstreet and were talking to these two friends. We were in the process of setting up a return appointment with these two men, when out of nowhere a policeman rushes one of our guys, takes him to the side and handcuffs him and takes him to a van! We were shocked and a little scared, but the friend just kept on talking like nothing happened. And THEN a random lady comes up to me and tells me that she wants to buy us lunch, and to meet her in a cafe when we're done! So, we're shocked and confused, but we wrapped up our conversation with the weird guy and went into the cafe (he got pulled aside by a police officer-and so Sis. Mac and I are like "Nope. Not meeting with that dude." Anyway. So this lady is with her husband and another couple, and they live in Salt Lake City and are Mormons! They were having a two week vacation in Scotland and Ireland and were just passing through Montrose on their way to Edinburgh when they decided to stop for a late lunch. They were so so sweet and we just talked and talked, and it was so great! Afterwards they took a picture of us with them and sent it to our parents. So sweet.
I was feeling very sad one of the days this week just thinking about all the people who don't want to learn about this incredible Gospel, and how there were so many part-member families in our ward and how I would feel if my own family didn't believe everything I did. I was just feeling down and dark, and so Sister Mac uncovered my thoughts like the wizard she is and stopped us to sit on a bench. I talked about my feelings to her, and she's amazing and turned to Joseph Smith History when he talks about going into the grove to pray. She subbed my name into it and read about the darkness and despair, and then the pillar of light descending. Tears were pouring down my face, and I felt EVERY SINGLE FEELING that was expressed in the account of the First Vision. First the pain and suffocating, and then the utter peace and joy and light. The spirit was incredible. She is so amazing and so in tune with the Spirit all the time and always says the things I need to hear.
Okay, I almost out of time, so I'll be fast and random now! The members of our ward are absolutely incredible, and I love them all dearly, Especially Helen Stronach and Bishop Dibdin. We just met Bishop yesterday, and he and our friend that we're teaching are so so close. They gave eachother hugs and held hands, and he's just her confidante and it's great. Helen taught us the Scottish saying It's a braw breicht moonleicht neicht toneicht. I don't know how to spell them, but it just means, It's a beautiful bright moonlit night tonight. Sis Mac and I butcher it. Helen and her husband are so funny. And every sunday before fast sunday we have a ward munch and mingle! And I ate so much! One of the Brothers kept on commenting on it and I just felt so bad and fat. Don't worry though! I'm definitely not starving!
We had dinner with Sarah and talked/taught her afterwards while walking on the beach. She loves the Church but is struggling with a few things, and then yesterday made a huge mistake while she was on a date. She texted us and Bishop and said how she had screwed up and was crying, so pray for her! We're going to do our best to help her.
Oh and we're also teaching a one-eyed man with learning disabilities.
Annddd a recent convert has been texting us, asking if he can go out on a date with me haha. We talked to Bishop about it. Apparently he's kinda mad in the head.
Love you lots everyone! Stay happy and well and safe!
