1st Day

Hi Mom!

Security was kinda stressful before getting on the plane because it was my first time flying, but I'm glad it was just in St. George. Elder Forsythe is hilarious in that he talks so so much and says dope every two sentences. I could tell that he was really stressed when he got on to the plane. It was delayed just for him. And guess what! I sat by a bishop on my first flight! He's probably in his early thirties and lives in Bloomington. I think he said that his first name is Jordan and his last name starts with an M, but it was super hard to hear. Anyway, he was super nice and friendly and we talked the whole hour to Salt Lake! I met an Elder Forsyth who took the same flight as me at the airport and he started talking to me a mile a minute, then gradually a bunch of other missionaries joined us, and I found Sister Hammond too! She's super super sweet. The next two flights were pretty boring and uneventful, and I couldn't really sleep on either, because NEITHER WOULD RECLINE. Oh and in my second flight a flight attendant asked if I could switch seats with a little girl so she could sit by her sister, and later this flight attendant gave me a free snack box! With crackers and cookies and salami and yummy stuffs. Then in my international flight they gave us free dinner and breakfast! AND THE DINNER WAS SO GOOD. They were in these little rectangle bowl things with tinfoil over the top, and I got the chicken meatballs with "mash" and broccoli. YUM YUM. It also came with a cute little cake in a tiny cylinder container. The breakfast was this nasty blueberry yogurt and an Aussie Bar, and I ended up crumbling the bar into the yogurt and eating it. It wasn't terrible I guess. It was kind of a cool culture shock on the international flight. Most all of the occupants were British, and all of the attendants were. ACCENTS! One of the girls would come down the aisle asking if we had any "rubbish." I knew that they referred to garbage as that but I haven't really heard it outside of movies and aunt Trish. Oh and the international flight was delayed, but I don't know why. We were all on the plane and they said that there were some weird things going on, so as far as I could tell, they just drove it around slowly a lot until we took off? But yeah, it was fine. The time changes have really been messing me up, but I'm fine! I never got a window seat so no pictures of that, but it's all good. Fun time, but exhausting. The Manchester airport was pretty good and easy, and then we were off on a bus to the MTC! It's so small! Apparently there's only around 45 missionaries here! I'm so happy! Our President and his wife are President and Sister Bunker. They've been here for 18 months and are from Vegas. We got here at around 9:00 am I think? And the whole day is to relax and rest and adjust. It's really relaxed here and not strict at all! There's two hours of exercise every day and we can walk the temple grounds and everything! I'm in a trio right now with Sister Hammond and Sister Anjewierden. Another sister was supposed to come here today too. Sis Hammond knows her and they came in together but her ticket was void for some reason, so I guess she's still at home. And then another Sis. is coming tomorrow from Argentina! So one of us will be assigned to her. I'm pretty much out of time now but I love you so so much!

Love, Sister Syphus
